Overview

As one of the UK’s best-loved brands, Elmlea competes in a complex market comprised of fresh and long life products, both branded and own label.

Challenge

To position Elmlea as the preferred choice by consumers who want their cream to stay fresher for that little bit longer

Illumination

The creation of a clear design architecture allowed for the brand marque to establish a prominent position on pack supported with a clear information hierarchy that helps consumers to navigate the range – the ‘pouring cream’ device instantly communicating the individual product formulation and benefits. Our unique ‘Connected Expertise’ approach enabled us to deliver a project from concept to shelf by employing a process that guaranteed quality reproduction of photo-realistic imagery to communicate taste appeal. We worked closely with Unilever’s printer to deliver artwork that was appropriate to the rigours of the ‘dry off-set’ print process, recommended a higher quality printing process and provided print accurate proofs for client approval. All this in combination with our attendance at final press approval resulted in finished packaging that delivered all the promise of the original design concept.
